Position Description
The Multilingual Learner Interventionist – Multilingual Learner Support works closely with teachers, school leaders, and the regional Multilingual Learner (ML) team to ensure that students identified as multilingual learners make measurable progress in their English language development and core academic skills. The Interventionist provides small group and one-on-one support in speaking, listening, reading, and writing, while also reinforcing foundational literacy and math skills. This role requires consistent use of data to plan instruction, close collaboration with classroom teachers, and clear communication with families regarding student progress.
This position is contingent on term-limited supplemental funding and will be reassessed annually.
The role reports to the Principal / Assistant Principal and the Regional Manager of Multilingual Learners.
Essential Functions:
- Instruction & Student Support
- Deliver small group and one-on-one interventions targeting English language development, aligned to students’ Individualized ML needs.
- Provide both designated and integrated ELD instruction, using Rocketship-adopted curricula and strategies.
- Support a language-rich environment through vocabulary development, structured conversations, and opportunities for student presentations.
- Push-in, pull-out, or co-teach with general educators to ensure ML strategies are embedded in daily instruction.
- Assessment & Data Use
- Administer and/or support administration of ELPAC assessments for multilingual learners.
- Conduct frequent progress monitoring in speaking, listening, reading, and writing; share results with teachers and families.
- Collaborate with teachers and school leaders to analyze ELPAC and other assessment data; co-develop action plans that guide instruction and intervention.
- Collaboration & Family Engagement
- Partner with classroom teachers during planning cycles to ensure integrated ELD strategies are reflected in lesson plans.
- Report student progress to families on a 6–8 week basis and partner with school teams to ensure multilingual learner voices are represented at community events and school meetings.
- Participate in professional development and actively contribute to grade-level and school-wide collaboration.
Qualifications:
- Passion for working with multilingual learners and supporting their academic and language development.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work collaboratively with staff, students, and families.
- Experience interpreting and using multiple sets of data to guide instruction.
- At least one year of school-based experience with elementary-aged students preferred.
- Fluency in English and Spanish required
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, but not required
- EL certification is preferred, but not required
- Interest in pursuing a teaching credential is a plus.
$20.50 - $24.50 an hour

Compensation:
Commensurate with qualifications and experience.
