Description Overview As a central member of the internal Engineering Management team, the Regional Engineering Manager will assist with engineering oversight for the shared portfolio of commercial assets in Boston Seaport (MA), Dallas (TX), Reston (VA), and Pittsburgh (PA). The Regional Engineering Manager will serve as the engineering point of contact for on-site and portfolio Property Management teams, primarily focusing on the assets outside of Boston. This position will coordinate MEP-focused projects and oversee ongoing mechanical operations ensuring long-term asset preservation and operational optimization consistent with our industry-leading standards for building management and operation. This position will report to the Director of Engineering. Key Position Responsibilities Primary WS engineering point of contact and resource for on-site property management and third-party service providers. Coordinate MEP related projects, including scope, budget, and schedule review, contractor coordination, onsite checks of the work, commissioning, and closeout. Participate in operational, design, and coordination meetings. Review plans, bids, proposals, and submittals. Communicate updates, issues, and recommendations, as necessary. Conduct periodic site reviews for system conditions, PM compliance, safety, documentation, and vendor performance. Partner with the Engineering Systems Manager on commissioning, BAS optimization, and metering for both base building and tenant-related matters. Support the implementation of preventative maintenance CMMS programs, SOPs, and documentation practices. Take part in utility budgeting, capital planning, sustainable operational review and equipment lifecycle strategies. Assist with the property acquisition process, including due diligence, transition, and startup as directed. Assist with the review of tenant fitout plans during the design process for both retail and office spaces to ensure compatibility with base building systems and operational optimization. Requirements Experience in facilities engineering, MEP project delivery, and commercial building operations. Strong project management capability in tenant-occupied buildings. Knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, life safety systems, energy efficiency, BMS and CMMS systems. Experience directing third-party service providers on projects and ongoing operations. Clear communication with cross-functional portfolio property management, construction and development teams, internal leadership, and vendors. Based in Bostonâs Seaport neighborhood, with regular regional travel. Travel frequency can fluctuate based on project load. To the extent possible, travel can be tailored to candidates' preferred travel schedule. This is a field-oriented role, with after-hours support when required. Uphold WSâs high engineering and safety standards and always represent ownership professionally. Ability to explain technically complex matters to audiences with varying degrees of familiarity with the subject matter as part of project presentations and on-site communications with vendors, tenants, and other stakeholders. Bachelorâs degree in engineering preferred. (Mechanical, Marine, Electrical, Facilities) The expected salary range for this position is $130,000-$160,000 per year. Actual compensation will be based on factors such as skills, qualifications, experience, and location. This role is also eligible to participate in our annual bonus program.
