Overview: The Candidate Our ideal candidate is a current student, ideally in their last semester of school, enrolled in a bachelor's degree program at an accredited university in the United States. We would like to target students who are looking for a career in Human Resources. This is a temporary role as an intern at SmartCommerce with an anticipated start date of January 12, 2026 and an end date of April 17, 2026, with some flexibility of those dates. Your Compensation The compensation for this position is $20 per hour, with about 20-30 hours per week of work. The hours you will be working can be somewhat flexible. This role is fully remote with the expectation that you will work from the city and state you are hired in. There may be some business travel on rare occasions. Key Responsibilities Assist in the recruitment process by scheduling interviews. Reconcile HR Billing documents. Support the onboarding process for new hires, including preparing orientation materials. Help maintain employee records and HR databases to ensure accurate and up-to-date information. Assist in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures. Participate in organizing employee engagement initiatives and team-building activities. Conduct research on HR best practices and industry trends to provide insights to the team. Assist with the preparation of HR reports and presentations as needed. Support employees during Open Enrollment and benefits implementation. In addition to these key responsibilities, we like to offer the opportunity to take on a project that the intern can create and develop from scratch. This will allow the intern to show their creativity and demonstrate their ability to plan and execute. This project will be mutually developed with the VP of HR. Requirements Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively interact with team members and candidates. Demonstrated ability to build rapport and foster relationships with diverse individuals. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and very comfortable learning new tech tools. Must have experience with Google Suite (i.e. Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, etc.) A strong desire to learn and grow within the human resources field. Self-motivated and organized, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines. Positive attitude with a collaborative spirit and a passion for working in a team-oriented environment.
