Description At Tutor Me Education, we are revolutionizing the way students learn, and we're seeking passionate teachers and tutors with special education experience to provide 1:1 in-home tutoring in Whittier, CA ! About the Role: As an Tutor at Tutor Me Education, you’ll provide personalized, one-on-one tutoring to students with special needs in their homes. You will be responsible for helping students with daily activities, offering moral support, and delivering tailored instruction based on their Individualized Education Plan (IEP). We are currently hiring for multiple positions across all cities in Whittier, CA Details: In-Person Tutoring in Whittier, CA Schedule: 15 hours, 2 sessions a week for 1 hour 15 mins Pay range is between $25 and $35 Ideal Candidate: Experience working with students with autism and/or other learning differences. Skilled in foundational literacy and math instruction for students performing below grade level. Strong understanding of social-emotional learning strategies and fine motor skill development. Patient, creative, and consistent, with excellent motivational and organizational skills. Ability to communicate in both English and Spanish is preferred but not required. Preferred: Background in Special Education, ABA, RBT, or related fields. Key Responsibilities: Provide structured instruction in foundational reading comprehension, including short sentences, identifying main ideas, and improving understanding of text. Teach foundational math skills, including number identification, addition and subtraction, counting money, and basic problem-solving. Support social-emotional learning (SEL) to enhance peer interactions, self-regulation, and confidence. Incorporate fine motor skill activities into lessons to support writing and daily functional tasks. Create individualized lesson plans, as no formal homework is assigned, tailored to the student’s skill level and interests. Use visual supports, manipulatives, and interactive methods to engage the student and maintain focus. Maintain regular communication with caregivers regarding progress, observations, and strategies to reinforce learning at home. Why Tutor Me Education?
