Join us as our new Project Engineer We are looking for another member to join our Engineering Team: a working environment consisting of highly educated, skilled, positive, innovative, and enthusiastic employees. The Project Engineer will operate under the general supervision of the engineering manager during day-to-day engineering duties but will also have project derived responsibilities provided by the respective project manager for which the engineer is assigned. The Projectâs Engineerâs role is to achieve the departmental goals leading-by-example, diligently managing and executing the necessary project and structural analyses of the unique engineered solutions using departmental resources. Additionally, the Project Engineer is expected to contribute positive input and guidance to the group as a whole based on past experience; ensuring details gained through years of experience are not unduly excluded or overlooked during the planning phases. Offshore engineering management will be required. Furthermore, a Project Engineer will support business development initiatives such as tenders, presentations/meetings, methodology statements, and CTRs as required for the tendering process. Requirements Responsibilities: Ensure senior and discipline level engineers adhere to existing engineering workflow processes for consistent and efficient project execution Support business development and tendering activities as required by senior management for the development of new clients and business opportunities Promote development of senior and discipline level engineersâ technical, managerial, and interpersonal abilities to encourage employee loyalty and job satisfaction Encourage open communication between engineering and operations to ensure engineering deliverables reflect operational aspects for offshore implementation and also promotes a healthy productive intercompany culture Promote the development of a HSEQ culture and system that minimizes the risk of injury to personnel, the environment and equipment to ALARP levels (As Low As Reasonably Practical) Promote the companyâs organizational culture, values and reputation with all staff, customers, suppliers, partners, and regulatory/official bodies Execute all responsibilities according to lawful and ethical standards Comply with all relevant health and safety legislation as directed by the HSE department Comply with all relevant company health and safety policies as directed by the HSE department Complete all company required training modules Comply with all relevant company environmental policies Minimize environmental impact during day-to-day activities (i.e., reduce paper use) Duties/Tasks: Task can include, but are not limited to: Perform structural design of project seafastenings for all project related deck equipment, which includes evaluation of vessel deck structure, designing and installation oversight of deck stiffening/load spreaders as required, design of structural installation appurtenances, etc. Mentor and train graduate level structural engineers as DOF builds its technical structural design capabilities Review technical project deliverables generated by the engineering department for both accuracy and completeness to ensure the clientâs intended final purpose is achieved and that deliverables meet DOFâs highest standards for quality Manage interface with subcontractors, senior and discipline engineers, and drafting through the planning and execution phases of a project Perform specialized design and analysis of all facets of engineering in support of DOF Subsea core business initiatives such as Inspection/Maintenance/Repair (IMR), light subsea construction, subsea intervention, deepwater decommissioning, permanent mooring installation/disconnection, engineering studies and tendering as a whole, but emphasis will be structural design activities & oversight Evaluate DOF asset capabilities in conjunction with client requirements to quickly evaluate DOFâs ability to perform the requested scope of work Work closely with clients to provide both logical and economical solutions for project execution Assist Engineering Manager in maintaining relevant engineering processes and procedures which allow efficient project workflow according to the manner in which the department conducts business Diligently work towards meeting regional and departmental Key Performance Indicators (KPIâs) Actively seek to develop safe, practical, cost effective and cutting-edge solutions to project technical challenges Education: Bachelor of Science Degree in applicable engineering field of study (Civil, Mechanical, Naval Architecture, Ocean, Structural, or equivalent) from an Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) certified program or international equivalent per ABET Mutual Recognition Agreements (MRAs) Professional engineering license (Required) Experience / Knowledge: 7-10 yearsâ marine operations project planning & execution experience with special emphasis on structural design including vessel deck grillage/load spreaders, equipment sea fastenings, and vessel project mobilization oversight Extensive technical and operational experience planning and supervising marine crane lifts including evaluation of crane capacity and lift rigging design (1 to 250 tons) Extensive technical and operational working experience in offshore and subsea construction environments such as equipment and/or platform installations, launch and recovery methods for equipment, vessel mobilizations/demobilizations, equipment FAT/SIT/NDT testing, etc. Must be willing to travel to vessel mobilization site to oversee vessel mobilization Must be willing to lead offshore engineering projects onboard DOF operated vessels, i.e., DOF owned or subcontracted vessels, for the duration of offshore project execution phases Experience managing workflow for project technical deliverables History of completing technical and operational project deliverables on schedule and in compliance with project requirements/design basis Excellent specialized software knowledge- per engineering discipline/specialization (Example- Ansys/Inventor- Structural/Mechanical, Orcaflex- Hydrodynamics, etc.) Extensive knowledge of the marine environment and technical challenges associated with executing projects in these conditions In-depth knowledge of subsea infrastructure components- deployment methodologies, equipment handling restrictions, testing requirements, etc. In depth knowledge of DNV lifting and underwater deployment/recovery codes pertaining to marine operations Technical knowledge to review subcontractor technical deliverables Excellent knowledge of industry and regulatory standards, best practices, and design codes In depth working knowledge of DOF Business Management System (BMS) At DOF what we do is as important as the way we do business â our operations
