Job Overview:
Reporting to the Director, Innovation, the Associate will provide technical and operational assistance to early-stage ventures. Working directly with Senior Commercialization Advisors and Commercialization Advisors, the Associate will help gather and analyze data, create content and reports, conduct research, and execute on tailored strategies for ventures in our portfolio. This position serves as a key support function between technical innovation and commercial success, working closely with research teams, startup founders, and advisors to support commercialization pathways.
Responsibilities
- Gather and analyze data to support market research and competitive analysis for emerging technologies
- Conduct technical evaluations and due diligence to assess commercial potential of portfolio ventures
- Create high-quality content, presentations, and reports for both internal teams and venture partners
- Assist in developing business models, financial projections, and go-to-market strategies
- Support the implementation of tailored commercialization strategies for ventures
- Help identify and connect ventures with resources, funding opportunities, and potential partnerships
- Help identify and support integration of ecosystem initiatives to impact venture development at scale
- Coordinate meetings, workshops, and review sessions
- Maintain accurate tracking against milestones and provide regular status updates
- Develop and maintain templates, defined processes, and automations to ensure repeatable consistency
- Execute specific venture support or ecosystem support tasks as directed by Commercialization Advisors
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in science or engineering
- 2-4 years of experience in research or technical capacity
- Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and attention to detail
- Ability to translate complex technical concepts for various audiences
- Demonstrated interest in technology commercialization and entrepreneurship
- Proficiency with data analysis tools and business software applications
- Working knowledge in one or more target technology areas (Pharma, Biotech, Med Devices, Enterprise Software, Semiconductors, Advanced Materials, Cybersecurity, IoT, AI, Agriculture)
- Ability to support multiple ventures simultaneously while maintaining high-quality work
- Exceptional verbal, written, and visual communication skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, entrepreneurial environment; ability to exercise flexibility and good judgment in complex situations
- Appetite for curiosity and desire to learn
- Must have an entrepreneurial mindset with a strong desire to have an impact on society
$80,000 - $95,000 a year
Salary is commensurate on experience. This position is bonus eligible.
