Description A well-established produce distribution company serving the tri-state area is seeking an experienced Sales Executive to lead and modernize its sales and customer service operations. This is a legacy-building opportunity for a results-driven leader with deep produce industry knowledge. The company distributes fresh produce to chain restaurants, supermarkets, and local establishments throughout the region. This role offers exceptional autonomy to build, shape, and lead a high-performing sales organization. The ideal candidate will bring proven sales leadership in perishables, understand cold chain logistics, and be ready to take ownership of a team that includes seasoned sales representatives and customer service staff. Key Responsibilities Sales Leadership & Strategy Lead the sales team in executing business development strategies in the fresh produce market Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve revenue targets and maximize territory potential Identify and secure new accounts across wholesale, retail, and foodservice sectors Analyze market trends and customer needs to develop competitive pricing strategies Monitor key metrics including sales volume, profit margins, and customer satisfaction Operations & Customer Relations Integrate closely with warehouse and operations teams to ensure product quality and delivery excellence Improve quality checks and strengthen customer touchpoints Manage contracts, negotiations, and credit terms with key accounts Maintain and grow relationships with existing customers while developing new business Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and customer meetings Reporting & Compliance Prepare regular sales forecasts, reports, and presentations for senior leadership Ensure compliance with food safety and handling regulations Collaborate with procurement teams to ensure product availability and timely delivery Team Management & Development Manage sales representatives and customer service staff Conduct management meetings to drive accountability and performance Train, mentor, and evaluate sales team members to maximize effectiveness Requirements Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Business, Agriculture, Supply Chain, or related field Experience with temperature-controlled logistics or distribution 5+ years of sales experience in produce or perishable goods industry 2+ years of management or supervisory experience Strong knowledge of the produce supply chain, from grower to end customer Deep understanding of perishable logistics, cold chain management, and customer needs across wholesale, retail, and foodservice channels Proven ability to develop strategic sales plans and achieve revenue targets Exceptional communication, negotiation, and customer service skills Strong team leadership and mentorship capabilities Proficient with CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite Ability to travel as needed for customer visits and industry events (domestic and occasional international) Valid driver's license Preferred Qualifications International account exposure Bilingual (Spanish/English) Track record of building or modernizing sales teams Experience managing both direct sales and customer service functions Benefits Salary: $100,000 base salary plus performance-based incentives Benefits Package: Comprehensive health insurance 401(k) with company match Relocation assistance available for exceptional candidates Equal Employment Opportunity and Non-Discrimination Policy Equal Employment Opportunity Statement: Both Keller Executive Search and our clients are Equal Opportunity Employers.
