The Construction Loan Analyst is required to convey an image of professionalism, efficiency, and competence as a member of the Celtic Bank team. The Construction Loan Analyst is expected to deliver exceptional service and maintain all related activities in an organized and consistent manner. As a Construction Loan Analyst, you will work closely with the borrower and general contractors to review, reconcile, and complete the construction underwriting and closing of new construction loans. You will collaborate closely with team members across various departments to ensure deadlines are achieved and will be responsible for ensuring compliance with Celtic Bank General Policies as well as state and federal regulations. Be it analyzing and validating project budgets, verifying construction documentation, or finding solutions to challenges that may arise through the closing process, there is always something to continue your learning and progression. The ideal Construction Loan Analyst candidate has some experience with construction loans in a lending environment or financial budgeting /administration in a general contractor environment, is highly detail-oriented, and has a good understanding of construction basics. Essential Job Functions Manage a portfolio of construction loans across underwriting, credit review, and closing stages. Act as the primary point of contact for borrowers, contractors, and third-party vendors, providing guidance and updates throughout the loan closing process for a seamless experience. Ability to maintain a great attitude and professional disposition with both internal and external parties, especially while handling deadlines, delays, or setbacks. Stay up to date on industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to construction lending. Conduct and create in-depth analysis of construction project sources and uses, construction budgets, architectural plan & site plan review, and financial information during underwriting. Identify and mitigate risks related to project delays, cost overruns, or other construction-related challenges. Proactively track, reconcile, and monitor project costs and statuses and ensure alignment with loan terms Prepare and present underwriting analyses and project evaluations to managers for Loan Committees. Obtain, review, and approve all construction documents (e.g., AIA G702/703 forms, contracts, draw procedures) prior to closing ensuring documentation algins with regulatory compliance areas, policies and procedures and best practices. Collaborate with internal teams, including underwriting/closing, accounting, and disbursement agents to ensure smooth operations. Leveraging technology to manage documentation files, including uploading documents, entering budget numbers, and reconciling expenses. Ensure proper documentation is filed for audits and regulatory reviews. Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements ESSENTIAL SKILLS: Knowledge of SBA and commercial construction lending practices and procedures is preferred. Understanding of budgeting & accounting principles. Familiarity with construction funding basics preferred. Fluency in construction finance, the building process, and associated language preferred. Technologically-savvy with a mastery of Adobe Acrobat DC, Microsoft 365 (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, OneDrive, Salesforce, Built), and other software platforms. Detail oriented and possess excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication (verbal and written) skills. Ability to problem solve and work independently. Must possess the ability to prioritize and support various activities simultaneously. Ability to thrive in a deadline-driven environment, including demonstrating excellent time management, organization, and planning skills. Ability to learn quickly, adapt to new processes, and work in a collaborative environment. Ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships. Detailed oriented and possess excellent interpersonal organization and communication (verbal and written) skills. Ability to problem solve and work independently. Must be able to read, write and understand fluent English. Work Model: The employee in this position will work either a fully Onsite or Hybrid work model. All employees, regardless of location, may be required to travel to the Salt Lake City office for mandatory company meetings, events, or related occasions.
