Description Background Check Quality Control Specialist As a Quality Control Specialist, you will be responsible for evaluating Public Records results related to pre-employment background screening applications to ensure the information returned to our clients is complete and accurate and conforms to FCRA and State regulations. Additional responsibilities include conducting audits of results obtained from internal and external sources to ensure consistent and compliant results are received from all data sources. What youâll do: · Act as the gatekeeper to ensure all public record and other information researched and recorded by our criminal researchers is complete, accurate, and complies with FCRA and State guidelines before being reported to our clients. · Collaborate with compliance and internal research team to review, refine, document, implement and maintain research practices and quality control procedures that ensure the delivery of compliant and high-quality results. · Assume ownership of vendor quality control, including quarterly auditing of vendors, evaluation and reporting of results, and partnering with management to performance manage vendors that do not meet quality standards. · Develop deep jurisdictional knowledge and fulfillment expertise across the range of public record services provided by Foley. · Provide guidance and informed recommendations to management in all areas of public records quality control, including data source and/or vendor changes that will improve quality and/or turnaround time; process changes to improve internal team performance, quality of output, accelerated delivery of results, etc. · Conduct criminal research, including primary source research, court calls to obtain additional information/identifiers, reinvestigations, etc., as needed. · Other quality-related activities as required by management. Who you are: · Bachelorâs degree in Criminal Justice or related field or applicable working experience in a related field (previous criminal records research, legal or court system) required. · Minimum 3 years experience in the background screening industry, including 1 year in criminal/public record quality control, required. · Demonstrable knowledge of U.S. criminal justice system including reading court cases, case terminology, court record filing, applying FCRA and State regulations, compiling and delivering accurate and high-quality consumer reports, required. · Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving abilities. · Excellent verbal and written communication skills. · Strong computer experience including Microsoft Office Suite and web-based research skills. · Experience working with sensitive data and ability to meet tight deadlines with accuracy. · Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment and maintain performance level that meets or exceeds the quality goals of the department. Location: This role is primarily remote (US based), with the expectation of occasional visits to our offices for team collaboration, training, or company events. Compensation Transparency The base compensation for this position begins at $22.00/hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
