Position Summary:
KIND seeks a Payroll Associate who will assist the Payroll Manager with payroll tasks, including timesheet hours verification, document filing, and payroll data entering and balancing.
This a headquarters position based remotely from any location in the U.S.
This position is contingent upon continued funding.
Essential Functions:
- Reviews payroll authorization memo from Human Resources.
- Performs necessary payroll adjustments as needed per payroll memo.
- Assists with auditing timecards for accuracy and compliance.
- Collaborates with employees and supervisors regarding payroll questions.
- Ensures all payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely.
- Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and validates confirmed reports.
- Receives and documents any necessary approvals prior to processing any off-cycle payrolls.
- Assists in registering the organization in new states as needed and recording the corresponding State ID numbers for payroll taxes in ADP.
- Assist with submitting payroll for review and approval.
- Collaborates with various departments involved in the payroll process.
- Assists with benefit-related reconciliations and payments.
- Assists with W-2 review and approval.
- Assists on special projects, as assigned.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Undergraduate degree and/or combination of experience in accounting or finance preferred.
- Must be fluent in English; fluency in Spanish preferred but not required.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in payroll.
- Performs processing of payroll-related items using payroll management system. ADP experience preferred.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of payroll information and matter required.
- Experience in Non-Profit Organizations preferred but not required.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to problem solve, excellent attention to detail.
- Possess strong communication skills and social skills for teamwork and management.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and Spanish preferred.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (such as Teams, Excel, etc.).
- Ability to work collaboratively and multi-task in our KIND environment, managing numerous priorities and emerging opportunities.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to work on multiple projects in a deadline-oriented environment; ability to prioritize tasks and delegate as appropriate.
- Ability to multitask and work with a sense of urgency in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

- Experience working and communicating in a remote environment preferred but not required.
$48,141 - $60,177 a year
