Description Our client, a respected produce distribution organization operating throughout the tri-state region, is looking for a dynamic Sales Director to transform and advance their sales and customer relations initiatives. The successful candidate will demonstrate successful sales management experience in perishable goods, comprehend refrigerated supply chain operations, and be prepared to assume responsibility for a team that includes veteran sales professionals and customer support personnel. Primary Duties Strategic Sales Management Analyze market trends and customer needs to develop competitive pricing strategies Identify and secure new accounts across wholesale, retail, and foodservice sectors Lead the sales team in executing business development strategies in the fresh produce market Monitor key metrics including sales volume, profit margins, and customer satisfaction Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve revenue targets and maximize territory potential Operations & Client Management Maintain and grow relationships with existing customers while developing new business Manage contracts, negotiations, and credit terms with key accounts Integrate closely with warehouse and operations teams to ensure product quality and delivery excellence Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and customer meetings Improve quality checks and strengthen customer touchpoints Reporting & Regulatory Compliance Collaborate with procurement teams to ensure product availability and timely delivery Ensure compliance with food safety and handling regulations Prepare regular sales forecasts, reports, and presentations for senior leadership Staff Leadership & Growth Train, mentor, and evaluate sales team members to maximize effectiveness Conduct management meetings to drive accountability and performance Manage sales representatives and customer service staff Requirements Essential Requirements Proven ability to develop strategic sales plans and achieve revenue targets Bachelor's degree in Business, Agriculture, Supply Chain, or related field Strong team leadership and mentorship capabilities Deep understanding of perishable logistics, cold chain management, and customer needs across wholesale, retail, and foodservice channels Valid driver's license 2+ years of management or supervisory experience Ability to travel as needed for customer visits and industry events (domestic and occasional international) Strong knowledge of the produce supply chain, from grower to end customer Experience with temperature-controlled logistics or distribution Exceptional communication, negotiation, and customer service skills 5+ years of sales experience in produce or perishable goods industry Proficient with CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite Desired Qualifications Experience managing both direct sales and customer service functions Bilingual (Spanish/English) International account exposure Track record of building or modernizing sales teams Benefits Base Compensation: $100,000 annually plus performance-driven bonuses Full health insurance coverage Retirement plan with employer matching contributions Relocation support provided for outstanding candidates Equal Employment Opportunity and Non-Discrimination Policy Equal Employment Opportunity Statement: Both Keller Executive Search and our clients are Equal Opportunity Employers.
