About the Role
As a SDET you will have a major role to play in the quality assurance stage of software development. You will carry out manual/automation tests to ensure the software created meets the requirements. This involves the analysis of software to prevent issues and fixing bugs before the product is dispatched to users.
Key Responsibilities
- Improve the test automation experience at Nium by enhancing tools/scripts, test coverage, and/or code structure, and automate repeated manual tasks to improve self/stream’s productivity
- Build, contribute and maintain automated test suites and frameworks on API, Web and Mobile App utilizing Java/JavaScript or similar languages.
- Take responsibility for the entire life cycle of your stories: development, test, production, and subsequent fixes and improvements with the guidance of leads.
- Solve the complex problems and challenges towards business, product and tech into stable/scalable implementations.
- Ability to break down business and product feature requirements into tests effectively.
- Responsible for functional and automation testing.
- Build and contribute to test infrastructure and tools at an early stage.
- Deep expertise in Functional, Automation testing for Web, API’s or Mobile apps.
- Work with Business, Product and Dev teams in close coordination.
- Well versed with Agile methodology, SDLC and STLC.
- Ability to highlight limitations and raise concerns/risks in testing to the stakeholders before release
Requirements
- 2–4 years of hands-on experience in:
- API testing using RestAssured Framework, or Playwright or similar frameworks.
- Web Automation using Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, or similar frameworks.
- Mobile App Automation using Appium (Android & iOS).
- Experience in building automation frameworks from scratch, ensuring stability, scalability, and maintainability.
- Strong programming skills in Java, JavaScript, Python,Typescript.
- Hands-on experience with Eclipse or IntelliJ IDE, and TestNG,VS code.
- Practical experience with Service Virtualization / Web Services Testing using POSTMAN or similar tools.
- Deep knowledge of Cross-Browser Testing, Selenium Grid Setup, and reporting tools like Extent, Allure, or Report Portal.
- Exposure to Device Clouds such as BrowserStack, SauceLabs, or AWS Device Farm.
- In-depth knowledge of Android and iOS platforms.
- Experience with Android SDK, Charles Proxy, Fiddler, Firebase, Google Play Console, and Xcode.
- Proficiency in CI/CD/CT pipelines using Jenkins, Bitbucket, GitLab, or similar release automation tools.
- Experience with Agile/Scrum delivery models.
- Familiarity with product and test management tools like JIRA, Asana, and TestRail.
- Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills for cross-functional teamwork.
- Hands-on experience or exposure to AI-assisted QA and productivity tools, including:
- GitHub Copilot – for generating automation code, refactoring tests, and improving efficiency.
- Claude (Anthropic) – for intelligent test case design, data synthesis, and AI output validation.
- Rovo – for AI-powered debugging, smart code reviews, and automated test analysis.
- Postbot (Postman AI Assistant) – for auto-generating API tests, analyzing responses, and building smart test scripts.
- , Applitools Visual AI, Mabl, or Functionize – for AI-driven UI automation, self-healing locators, and visual regression testing.
- Familiarity with AI-based test data generation, predictive defect detection, and AI-enhanced reporting.
- Understanding of AI/ML model validation techniques (accuracy, bias, precision, recall, F1-score).
- Experience integrating AI tools into test frameworks and CI/CD pipelines.
- Awareness of GenAI-driven exploratory testing and intelligent failure classification.
- Exposure to performance, infrastructure, or failover testing.
- Experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure cloud platforms.
- Understanding of AI/ML-based fintech systems Familiarity with KYC, AML, and transaction compliance test scenarios.
