🔍 Why we’re looking for you

We are looking for a Billing Operations Lead to architect, scale, and run world‑class billing infrastructure at Owner. As our product suite expands, our billing engine must evolve just as quickly. This role sits at the center of that transformation, shaping how revenue is billed, collected, analyzed, and governed.
You’ll own Billing and Accounts Receivable end‑to‑end, designing policies, exception frameworks, and enforcement standards that balance customer experience with strong financial discipline. You’ll manage our Billing Analysts, contractors, and partner deeply with Accounting, FP&A, RevOps, and Product to build the operational foundation that supports Owner’s growth. You’ll exercise judgment in evaluating edge cases, assessing whether exceptions improve overall customer health—and ensuring our billing approach supports long‑term business outcomes.
This role is perfect for someone who is equal parts operator, systems thinker, and strategic decision‑maker. You love digging into complex workflows, turning ambiguity into structure, and using data to drive smarter billing decisions.

This role is 100% remote.

💥 The impact you will have

    • Build and run the core financial operations engine at Owner—including Billing, AR, and the systems that power subscription revenue.
    • Own and scale billing infrastructure for new products and pricing experimentation, ensuring systems flex as the business evolves.
    • Design, implement, and refine billing policies, exception frameworks, and enforcement standards—balancing customer experience with business rigor.
    • Use data to evaluate whether billing exceptions or policies meaningfully improve retention, collections, or long‑term customer value.
    • Improve cash collections and operational accuracy across Finance, ensuring insights flow cleanly into Accounting and FP&A.
    • Implement process automation and controls that strengthen reliability, auditability, and real‑time reporting.
    • Partner cross‑functionally to architect scalable financial systems, integrations, and data flows that support high‑velocity product innovation.
    • Become the go‑to expert for Owner’s billing and revenue operations landscape—guiding teammates through systems and sharing knowledge openly.
    • Step into a leadership trajectory with the opportunity to grow a Billing team as Owner continues its rapid expansion.

🤝 Who you’ll work with

    • Partner closely with Accounting, FP&A, RevOps, Product, Engineering, and Customer Success.
    • Manage Billing Analysts and contractors while collaborating cross-functionally to ensure financial operations run smoothly.

✅ What we’re looking for

    • A builder excited to architect, own, and scale billing operations in a hypergrowth, product‑driven environment.
    • 5+ years of experience in financial operations or billing, ideally in SaaS—experience with AR or collections strategy a strong plus.
    • Hands-on familiarity with Stripe and Salesforce (or similar tools), including billing logic, integrations, and data flows.
    • A systems-first thinker who brings rigor, automation, analytical depth, and operational clarity to ambiguous problems.
    • Someone comfortable exercising judgment on billing policies, exceptions, and edge cases—and evaluating their downstream business impact.

🏆 Pay and benefits

    • The estimated base salary range for this role is $75,000-$100,000.
