We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced RBT for an exciting and rare opportunity to join the dynamic educational team with the Fort Liberty School District, supporting our military families in a school-based setting. In this role, you will play a crucial role in collaborating with teachers, support staff, and families to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
The DoDEA School-Based Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) provides behavioral support to students with autism and complex behavioral needs in a military school setting, including those with active Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) requiring consistent implementation and data collection. Working under the supervision of Board-Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs), the RBT implements individualized behavior intervention plans, models positive behavioral strategies for classroom teams, and supports inclusive learning environments.
This position is on-site at a Fort Liberty base schools and follows a year-round school schedule with shorter breaks throughout the year rather than a traditional summer recess. The RBT will receive pay continuity during scheduled school breaks, consistent with the structure of a school-based position.
Role Responsibilities - Implementation of Behavior Plans & Student Support:
- Provide one-on-one behavioral support to assigned students (typically two: one in the morning, one in the afternoon).
- Implement Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) and instructional programs designed and overseen by Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs).
- Support students with complex behavioral needs using function-based interventions, reinforcement systems, and other evidence-based strategies.
- Apply de-escalation and crisis-prevention strategies with composure and consistency.
- Ensure treatment integrity and follow BCBA feedback to maintain fidelity of implementation.
Role Responsibilities -Data Collection, Documentation & Reporting:
- Collect behavioral data (frequency, duration, ABC, IOA) to guide BCBA decision-making and monitor student progress.
- Maintain accuracy, timeliness, and confidentiality in all documentation per DoDEA and KBH standards.
- Support completion of data summaries, progress reports, and other deliverables required under the contract.
- Participate in behavioral crisis debriefs and provide observations to inform plan refinement.
Role Responsibilities - Collaboration, Communication & Team Integration:
- Attend monthly BCBA supervision meetings and participate in team meetings with DoDEA school staff.
- Collaborate effectively with teachers, paraprofessionals, and multidisciplinary teams to maintain consistency across classroom settings.
- Communicate regularly with the assigned BCBA regarding student progress, behavioral concerns, and program adjustments.
- Maintain professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality when interacting with school staff, families, and military personnel.
Role Responsibilities - Compliance, Safety & Professional Conduct:
- Follow all DoDEA, Department of Defense, and school policies and procedures, including base security and clearance requirements.
- Uphold all BACB ethical standards and KBH values.
- Maintain professional boundaries and discretion when rotating across multiple school sites.
- Ensure safety and dignity of all students during behavioral incidents and interventions.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent - required
- Bachelor’s degree in psychology, Education, or related field - preferred.
- Active Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification through the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) - required.
- 2+ years experience providing ABA-based behavioral support to children, particularly those with autism or developmental disabilities. Demonstrated experience implementing Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) and using evidence-based interventions under BCBA supervision. - preferred.
- 1+ year direct experience supporting students with complex behavioral needs including consistent data collection and documentation of behavioral outcomes. - required.
- 1+ year experience delivering ABA services within school-based or other structured educational environments - preferred.
- 1+ year experience collaborating with teachers, paraprofessionals, and multidisciplinary teams to support inclusive learning environments - preferred.
- Familiarity with behavioral de-escalation or crisis-prevention techniques (e.g., CPI, Safety-Care, Handle with Care) - preferred.
