Position Summary:

The Technology & Digital Solutions team is responsible for delivering innovative, scalable, and secure technology platforms that support the firm’s investment operations, including order origination, trade execution, and investment compliance.

The Lead Product Manager is responsible for defining and executing the strategic roadmap for platforms that enable Portfolio Implementation, Order Origination, Trade Execution, and Investment Compliance. This includes managing product backlogs, coordinating cross-functional delivery teams, and ensuring that technology solutions align with the firm’s investment goals and compliance standards. The role involves stewardship of both internally developed systems and vendor platforms, with a focus on data integrity, operational efficiency, and user experience. This individual will work closely with investment professionals, compliance teams, and engineering partners to translate business needs into actionable technology initiatives. Success in this role requires a deep understanding of asset management workflows, strong product leadership, and the ability to drive consensus across diverse stakeholder groups in a fast-paced, high-impact environment.

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

Product Leadership & Roadmap Ownership

  • Act as SME across Charles River, Portware, Bloomberg, and FactSet, owning the technology roadmap for Order Management, Trading, Trading Analytics, and Investment Compliance. 
  • Align priorities across Portfolio Implementation, Investment Compliance, Trading, and Technology. 
  • Drive transparent decision-making and integrate stakeholder feedback through governance processes. 

Team Leadership & Agile Delivery 

  • Mentor the technology team supporting Trading, Order Origination, and Investment Compliance. 
  • Drive Agile ceremonies, resolve blockers, and foster a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration. 

Resource Planning & Stakeholder Reporting 

  • Develop and manage resource allocation plans. Provide clear reporting on capacity, utilization, and variances to inform decisions across stakeholders 

Continuous Improvement 

  • Conduct retrospectives and implement processes, tools, and workflow enhancements to improve delivery efficiency and team performance. 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in STEM, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • 7-10 years of combined experience in Product Management within Asset Management.
  • Strong domain knowledge in Front Office functions including Order Management, Trade Execution, Trading Analytics, and Investment Compliance.
  • Proven experience managing enterprise vendor platforms such as Charles River, Portware, Bloomberg, and FactSet.
  • Expertise with Agile tools such as JIRA, Azure Boards, or similar.
  • Proficiency in data / quantitative analytics, business intelligence platforms, and general programming capabilities.
  • Experience with data architecture & engineering, cloud native development and DevOps / CI/CD principles
  • Exceptional communication, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong influencing and stakeholder management skills with the ability to build consensus across diverse teams.
  • Team-oriented leader with outstanding organizational and collaboration skills. 

May be required to occasionally work during off-times (early morning hours and/or evening hours) due to special projects/deadlines. Working hours of the position may also vary from normal business hours and flexibility is key.

Actual annual base salaries may vary based on factors including but not limited to education, training, experience, and other job-related factors. If hired, base pay will be determined on an individualized basis and is only one part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include a discretionary performance bonus and other Harris sponsored benefit programs.  

Expected range for this Chicago-based role

$185,000 - $200,000 USD
