About Mindrift Mindrift platform collaborates with leading AI companies developing some of the worldâs most advanced and groundbreaking models. We connect domain experts with projects that push the boundaries of what AI can learn, understand, and create. About the project We are seeking experienced physicists to create computationally intensive physics problems for an advanced AI evaluation project. Your work will help train models to handle complex, multi-step challenges that mirror real-world research and analytical workflows. This is a project-based freelance opportunity. What you'll do Design original computational physics problems that simulate real physics research workflows. Create problems requiring Python programming to solve (using numpy, scipy, matplotlib). Ensure problems are computationally intensive and cannot be solved manually within reasonable timeframes (days/weeks). Develop problems requiring non-trivial reasoning chains in mechanics, electromagnetism, thermodynamics, and quantum mechanics. Base problems on real research challenges or practical applications from physics practice. Verify solutions using Python with standard physics simulation libraries. Document problem statements clearly and provide verified correct answers. Problem domains (Examples) Classical Mechanics: N-body problems, orbital dynamics, collision simulations, chaotic systems. Electromagnetism: Field calculations, circuit analysis, wave propagation, electromagnetic simulations. Thermodynamics & Statistical Mechanics: Partition functions, phase transitions, ensemble calculations, entropy computations. Quantum Mechanics: Wave function evolution, quantum state calculations, perturbation theory. Computational Physics Methods: Numerical integration, molecular dynamics, finite element methods. Optics: Ray tracing, diffraction patterns, interference calculations. Astrophysics: Stellar evolution calculations, cosmological simulations, gravitational problems. How to get started Simply apply to this post, qualify, and get the chance to contribute to projects aligned with your skills, on your own schedule. Requirements Education & Experience PhD or Master's degree in Physics (Theoretical, Experimental, or Computational). Research experience in computational or theoretical physics. Publications or projects involving numerical simulations. Technical Skills Deep physics knowledge across multiple subfields. Strong programming skills in Python (numpy, scipy, matplotlib). Experience with numerical simulation methods. Familiarity with physics modeling and approximation techniques. Professional Skills Ability to design problems that mirror real physics research workflows. Creative thinking in problem design across diverse physics areas. Understanding of numerical accuracy and error propagation. Attention to detail for answer verification. Clear scientific writing skills. Proficient in English (C1 or higher). Benefits Why this freelance opportunity might be a great fit for you? Get paid for your expertise, with rates that can go up to $45/hour depending on your skills, experience, and project needs. Take part in a part-time, remote, freelance project that fits around your primary professional or academic commitments. Work on advanced AI projects and gain valuable experience that enhances your portfolio. Influence how future AI models understand and communicate in your field of expertise. Apply for this job
