Who are we looking for:
We’re looking for a highly analytical and detail-driven Environmental Data Analyst/Data Scientist who thrives on using advanced data analysis techniques to tackle environmental problems. In this role, you’ll play a vital part in supporting data collection, management, analysis, and visualization tasks for a diverse range of challenging and engaging environmental remediation projects. You’ll collaborate with scientists, engineers, and project managers to deliver data that informs regulatory compliance, sustainability strategies, and environmental decision-making. Location: Remote – New Jersey
Travel: National, up to 20%
To name a few, projects may include:
- Managing the environmental data for complex remediation sites in New Jersey.
- Supporting teams in collecting environmental data.
- Analyzing and visualizing data collected at sites across the country.
What you will be doing at Woodard & Curran:
- Managing, analyzing, evaluating, and interpreting data for use in reports and other visualizations including maps, charts, and 3D models.
- Identify and recommend data management solutions and procedure improvements.
- Work with and process environmental datasets and geospatial data.
- Implement custom data driven workflows.
- Assist in designing, coding, testing, and documenting systems.
- Support data management tasks throughout the data life cycle, including data acquisition, database maintenance, and data quality assurance.
- Collaborate with scientists, engineers, and project managers to interpret data and guide decision-making
- Assist in preparing documentation for environmental assessments, permits, and reports
What you will need to succeed:
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in data analysis, preferably in an environmental or sustainability context
- Proficiency in data analysis tools such as Excel, SQL, Python, or R
- Experience with GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS) is a plus
- Experience with MS Power Platform (e.g. Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate) a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and data visualization abilities
- Familiarity with environmental regulations and reporting standards
$90,000 - $105,000 a year
This position’s anticipated pay range is provided, and final salary (exempt) or hourly pay (non-exempt) will depend on years of experience, skills, education, and geographic differentials to reflect cost of labor differences between markets. For hybrid employees, the pay range is based on the office they are associated with, while for remote employees, it is based on their home office location.
