Position Overview
We’re hiring a Director, Finance Strategy & Operations to serve as a strategic operating partner to our Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Finance leadership team. This is a strategic, execution-heavy role responsible for ensuring our Finance function has the operating rhythm, systems, and efficiency to scale in a fast-growing, global SaaS company.
Unlike a traditional Finance role, this position will act as the program architect and operator for high-impact initiatives on behalf of the CFO. You’ll be a force multiplier for Finance helping design, manage, and execute initiatives that keep the organization disciplined, efficient, and forward-looking. You’ll also serve as the eyes and ears of the CFO in key meetings, representing Finance priorities and ensuring follow-through. This is a Director-level individual contributor role with high visibility inside the Finance, Accounting, and Billing Operations teams.
What You’ll Do -
Finance Program Project Management Office (PMO)
- Establish and lead a Program Management Office (PMO) for the CFO to drive accountability for critical Finance and Accounting initiatives (e.g., close optimization, public company readiness, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, revenue and billing operations, systems/process improvements).
- Translate strategic financial goals into operational action items across departments.
- Develop and maintain templates, planning tools, milestone tracking, and reporting cadences.
- Act as a central coordination point, ensuring accountability, momentum, and consistent progress across Finance and Accounting.
- Monitor key financial metrics and develop dashboards to inform executive decision-making.
Planning, Goal Tracking & Operating Rhythm
- Build frameworks for goal setting, tracking, and accountability across Finance and Accounting teams.
- Translate high-level strategy into actionable operating plans and ensure execution against priorities.
- Design and lead Finance and Accounting’s annual and quarterly planning, operating cadences, and reporting cycles.
- Partner with the CFO to manage the Finance and Accounting leadership team’s operating cadence, ensuring time is spent effectively on top priorities.
Finance Operations & Special Projects
- Lead initiatives to reduce the number of days to close the books, driving speed, accuracy, and efficiency.
- Partner with Accounting, FP&A, and Billing Operations to streamline processes and implement best practices.
- Drive special projects on behalf of the CFO, from cost optimization, finance org design to systems upgrades.
- Support public company readiness initiatives, including reporting, controls, and process enhancements.
- Champion a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement.
Systems, Process, & AI Enablement
- Drive process improvements and automation initiatives that enhance accuracy, scalability, and efficiency.
- Partner with Finance leadership to ensure we have the systems and processes needed to successfully scale.
- Lead the evaluation, selection, and implementation of AI tools and automation that drive efficiency and free up Finance team members for higher-value work.
- Act as a change leader, ensuring successful rollout, adoption, and measurable impact of new tools and workflows.
Executive Partnership
- Serve as a thought partner to the CFO in setting strategic priorities and operational plans.
- Coordinate and prepare financial communications for the CFO, including executive briefings, board materials, and investor updates.
- Serve as a trusted right hand to the CFO, aligning on Finance priorities and ensuring follow-through.
- Represent the CFO and Finance team in meetings, capturing outcomes, driving accountability, and escalating blockers.
- Maintain a pulse on team dynamics, surfacing risks and opportunities with clear recommendations.
- Act as the connective tissue between Finance strategy, execution, and communication.
- Serve as the cross-functional liaison between Finance and other departments (e.g., Legal, People, IT etc).
What You’ll Bring -
• 12+ years of experience in Finance, Strategy, Operations, or Chief of Staff roles.
• Track record of improving Finance operational excellence, including faster close processes, scalable systems, and operational rigor.
• Exceptional program and project management skills, with demonstrated ability to drive accountability and results.
• Strong understanding of finance team operating models, team structures and planning processes.
• Experience with public company readiness or operating in a US public company environment (IPO experience a plus).
• Strong communication skills — able to represent the CFO effectively and distill complexity into clarity.
• Executive presence combined with a willingness to get into the details.
• Strong analytical ability — you use data to identify opportunities, measure progress, and influence decisions.
• Thrives in ambiguity and excels at creating structure and focus.
• Curious about AI and automation tools and eager to apply them to improve Finance operations.
• Bias towards action and ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on problem-solving.
