Role
We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead our Product Experience team - the group responsible for how users interact with Nexla across every touchpoint. This team owns the full-stack experience layer, from our flagship platform to Express.dev (our natural language to data pipeline product) and emerging agentic capabilities that are redefining how users build and manage data integrations.
As Engineering Manager for Product Experience, you will:

Lead a cross-functional team of engineers building the interfaces and interaction layers that make complex data integration accessible to technical and non-technical users alike

Drive the evolution of AI-native experiences, including natural language interfaces, intelligent assistants, and agentic workflows that automate pipeline creation and management

Own the end-to-end product experience across no-code, low-code, and pro-code modalities, ensuring consistency and delight at every level of user sophistication

Shape how users discover, build, monitor, and iterate on data pipelines—making Nexla the most intuitive and powerful integration platform in the market

Responsibilities
Team Leadership

Mentor, and develop a high-performing team of full-stack engineers with diverse skill sets spanning interaction design, application development, and AI integration

Foster a culture of user obsession, where engineers deeply understand user problems and take pride in crafting elegant solutions

Create an environment of rapid iteration and experimentation, balanced with the quality standards enterprise customers demand
Product Experience Ownership

Own the roadmap for Nexla's product experience layer, balancing new AI-powered capabilities with platform reliability and usability improvements

Drive cohesive experiences across Express.dev, the core Nexla platform, and emerging agentic features—ensuring users can seamlessly move between natural language, visual, and programmatic interfaces

Partner closely with Product and Design to translate user research and business requirements into engineering plans
AI-Native Development

Lead the team in building intelligent, context-aware interfaces that leverage LLMs and agentic patterns to simplify complex workflows

Guide the integration of AI capabilities throughout the product experience—from smart suggestions and auto-configuration to fully autonomous pipeline generation

Stay ahead of rapidly evolving AI/UX patterns and bring best practices to how Nexla surfaces intelligence to users
Technical Excellence

Ensure the team delivers performant, accessible, and reliable experiences across web and programmatic interfaces

Champion engineering practices that enable rapid iteration without sacrificing quality—effective testing strategies, feature flagging, observability, and iterative rollouts

Provide technical guidance on architecture decisions that balance speed-to-market with long-term maintainability
Cross-functional Collaboration

Partner with Platform and Connectors teams to ensure seamless integration between the experience layer and underlying systems
-
Work with Customer Success and Support to close the feedback loop—ensuring user pain points translate into prioritized improvements
-
Collaborate with GTM teams to support launches, demos, and customer-facing moments that showcase Nexla's capabilities
Qualifications
Leadership and Management
-
4+ years managing engineering teams, with demonstrated success building high-performing, collaborative cultures
-
Experience leading full-stack or product-focused teams, ideally in B2B SaaS or developer tools

Track record of shipping user-facing products that balance speed with quality in fast-paced environments
Technical Expertise
-
Strong full-stack engineering background with hands-on experience across modern web technologies and application architectures
-
Familiarity with AI/ML integration patterns, particularly LLM-powered features and agentic systems or desire to get into the weeds.

Understanding of data systems and workflows—you don't need to be a data engineer, but you should be conversational in how data pipelines, transformations, and integrations work

Experience with observability, performance optimization, and building resilient user-facing systems

Deep empathy for users and an intuition for what makes software feel good to use

Ability to think across user segments—from business users who want no-code simplicity to developers who demand power and flexibility

Excitement about the intersection of AI and product experience, and opinions on how intelligent interfaces should behave

Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate technical tradeoffs to non-technical stakeholders

Proven ability to partner effectively with Product, Design, and other engineering teams

Comfort operating in ambiguity and helping teams navigate unclear requirements toward crisp solutions
